Hotel Hermitage Monte-Carlo

    Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo

An architectural jewel of the Belle Époque, the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo is one of Monaco’s most distinguished landmarks — a haven of elegance, tranquility, and heritage. Built between 1890 and 1896 by architect Jean Marquet, the hotel reflects a century of refinement and prestige. Its luminous winter garden dome, designed by Gustave Eiffel, bathes the lobby in natural light and stands as one of the principality’s most photographed interiors.

Over the years, this legendary palace has welcomed artists, royalty, and visionaries — from Josephine Baker and Maria Callas to Aristotle Onassis. Today, it continues to embody the discreet luxury and charm that define Monaco’s soul.

    Location

Nestled in the heart of Monaco, the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo enjoys an exceptional location overlooking the Port Hercule and Monaco’s old town, just steps from the Casino de Monte-Carlo, Café de Paris, and Opéra Garnier.

    How to get there:

The hotel is approximately 35 minutes by car or 7 minutes by helicopter from Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport. Private jet arrivals land at Nice, with onward helicopter or limousine transfers available. Guests arriving by car have convenient access via the A8 motorway from France or Italy, and benefit from valet parking and chauffeur services upon arrival.

    Rooms & Suites

The Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo offers 277 rooms and suites, each designed to combine classical charm with modern sophistication. Categories include Superior and Deluxe Rooms, Exclusive Sea-View Rooms, Junior Suites, Prestige Suites, and the opulent Diamond Suites — the pinnacle of luxury with private terraces, jacuzzis, and panoramic sea views.

Each room is elegantly furnished with soft tones, fine fabrics, and marble bathrooms, blending 19th-century refinement with today’s comfort. The Presidential Diamond Suite (200 m²) stands as a highlight, featuring two bedrooms, expansive living areas, and an unmatched view over the Mediterranean.

    Architecture & Heritage

A Belle Époque masterpiece, the Hermitage’s architecture embodies the romantic spirit of turn-of-the-century Monaco. Its most iconic feature — the Winter Garden Dome (Jardin d’Hiver) — was constructed under the direction of Gustave Eiffel, whose iron and glass design floods the lobby with natural light.

Inside, the Salle Belle Époque — a listed historical reception hall adorned with frescoes and crystal chandeliers — hosts prestigious events and private celebrations. Throughout the property, neoclassical details, gilded moldings, and serene pastel hues create an atmosphere of grace and lightness.

    Dining & Restaurants

Pavyllon Monte-Carlo by Yannick Alléno – 1 Michelin Star

The hotel’s signature restaurant, Pavyllon Monte-Carlo, is helmed by Chef Yannick Alléno, one of France’s most celebrated culinary masters. Awarded one Michelin star, Pavyllon offers Mediterranean-inspired haute cuisine served in an intimate and contemporary setting overlooking the port.

Alléno’s philosophy of “fine dining without formality” celebrates seasonal ingredients through precise technique, gentle extraction, and elegant presentation. The open kitchen and sea-view terrace make every meal a sensorial performance of flavor and artistry.

    L’Abysse Monte-Carlo – 2 Michelin Stars

A collaboration between Chef Yannick Alléno and Master Sushi Chef Yasunari Okazaki, L’Abysse Monte-Carlo brings Japanese excellence to Monaco. Opened in 2024, it earned two Michelin stars within its first year — a testament to its creativity and mastery.

Inspired by the four natural elements — earth, air, fire, and water — L’Abysse offers an immersive tasting journey that blends the elegance of omakase dining with Mediterranean influences. The minimalist interior, designed by Laurence Bonnel-Alléno, evokes serenity and precision in every detail.

Le Limùn Lobby Bar & Lounge

Located beneath the Eiffel glass dome, Le Limùn offers light fare, pastries, and afternoon tea in a relaxed, sunlit setting — the perfect rendezvous for casual meetings or indulgent breaks.

    Crystal Bar

An intimate retreat for cocktails and fine champagnes, the Crystal Bar reflects the timeless sophistication of the Hermitage. Its cozy atmosphere and refined service make it ideal for evening relaxation.

    Wellness & Private Beach Club

Guests of Hôtel Hermitage enjoy exclusive access to the Monte-Carlo Beach Club during the summer season, featuring an Olympic-sized seawater pool, private beach, and full service with loungers, cabanas, and gourmet seaside dining.

Within the resort, guests also have direct, complimentary access to the Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo, one of Europe’s premier wellness centers. The spa includes a heated indoor seawater pool, hammam, sauna, solarium, fitness facilities, and panoramic views over the Mediterranean.
